Is CoolSculpting® Elite an alternative to liposuction?

CoolSculpting® Elite effectively reduces localized fat deposits; however, it cannot achieve the same level of results as liposuction or any other body contouring surgery. Because liposuction is a surgical procedure, it can achieve much more significant fat removal. Liposuction or SmartLipo® can be performed nearly anywhere on the body to firm up your silhouette.

Is CoolSculpting® Elite safe?

Yes. Although it may sound intimidating to “freeze” and “eliminate cells,” CoolSculpting® Elite is very safe. Fat cells are very sensitive to cold temperatures; however, the surrounding healthy cells are not. Therefore, with this treatment, you can minimize the fatty cells you do not want while protecting the healthy cells around them.

How long is a CoolSculpting® Elite session?

Each CoolSculpting® Elite treatment is different, and treatment time varies between patients depending on the number of areas being treated. Some CoolSculpting® Elite treatments can be as short as 35 minutes and take place in our comfortable spa room. Many patients use this time to read, check email, watch a movie, or even sleep.

Do you offer CoolSculpting® Elite with the benefits of the new CoolAdvantage™ applicator?

What are the side effects of CoolSculpting® Elite?

CoolSculpting® Elite has a low risk of complications. However, some patients do experience minor side effects. Aside from the minimal discomfort that may be experienced during treatment, typical side effects following the procedure include numbness, redness, swelling, minor bruising, tingling, and stinging. These side effects are mild and generally only last several hours. It should be noted that if you suffer from cryoglobulinemia or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria, CoolSculpting® Elite is not the right treatment for you.
